The members of Plain White T's have different theories on why their former label, Hollywood Records, kept pushing back the release date of their newest album, "American Nights.
Guitarist and sometimes singer Tim Lopez said he heard a rumor that the label spent a significant amount of money producing other artists' albums and wanted to push those instead. Whatever the reason, the guys all agree they're better off now that they've parted ways with the label.
Last summer we went on tour and there was no momentum: 'Why are we out here? We knew we had to get out of there. So we negotiated our way out of the contract and they let us walk with the album, which is pretty awesome. It was a three-year process to finish the album.
Plain White T's, known best for its hits "Hey There Delilah" and "1, 2, 3, 4," released their follow up studio album to 's "Wonders of the Younger" in March on their own.
The Chicago-area quintet decided to remove the songs that had been part of its EP, "Should've Gone to Bed," from the album to avoid overlap and said it recorded five new songs in six days, motivated in part by their new creative freedom and a self-imposed deadline.
Our hands were tied. It wasn't even the label's fault. It was just the circumstances. That was a good release for us, to play music for fun again. The songs were great, and they played virtually all of Big Bad World, my personal favorite.
These guys rock, have fun, engage the crowd, and genuinely enjoy themselves. I was wondering if they were going to have the depth and maturity that they show on this work. This cd shows they have staying power. See more: The Offspring Albums Ranked. The songs are both classic and modern at the same time. All of the songs have beautiful singable melodies and good hooks. Many of their lyrics are sweet love songs or songs about relationships gone wrong that would appeal to many who listen to emo music.
