What is the difference between craving and desire
The more we give in to these cravings, the more our bodies adjust to the possibility of relief, and the less contact we have with the message that the noise is trying to give us. Because our soul desires are so messy and so great, we manage the associated anxiety by simplifying these desires into craving satiation…for love, sex, food, alcohol, spending. What needs to shift in your life to hold onto yourself, live freely in yourself, in the presence of others?

There is pleasure in the life of the Buddha, also anticipation, planning and action. But, there is no tanha, no thirst. He does not obsess with getting more alms. He is not obsessed with getting better clothes, or being undisturbed for the sake of meditating. While he knows what is skilful, what is good, and what is pleasant, he never attempts to drink them down any vain attempt to satisfy his thirst. They simply are the modes and manor of living beings, and certainly he was alive.
For him, no suffering. For me, and you, there is suffering: because we are obsessed with satisfying a thirst, and too ignorant to know what will really satisfy us. You've gotto have some desire to get to that state of non-desire. Just like Ven. Ananda said, you've gotto to have the desire to go to the park, and then actually carry it out in order to get to the park.. You can desire food too, but it sounds like you love that food! The one learning a language!
